About Us
Vancouver eRecycling was started by a UBC electrical engineering student named John.
He was bored of the books and wanted to use his hands-on skills for a good cause.
After learning that only 12.5% of e-waste is recycled, he figured he could help increase that percentage.
Armed with some tools, a bit of technical know-how, and his fair share of homework, he hopes to make a positive difference by keeping more electronics out of the landfill.

What happens to my electronics after pickup?
- After your electronics are collected they are primarily repaired for re-use. This occurs at the motherboard or smallest component level to minimize waste caused by repair.
What if an item is beyond repair?
- Even an item considered to be beyond repair still has components which can be used in the repair of other devices.
What about data stored on my device?
- We wipe the drives of all devices we receive.
